It has rare faggoting-which is a variation of lace knitting, in which every stitch is a yarn over or a decrease. There are several types of faggoting, but all are an extremely open lace similar to netting. Like most lace fabrics, faggoting has little structural strength and deforms easily, so it has little tendency to curl despite being asymmetrical. This topper is from 1880 upcycled by Boudoir Queen Studios in Austin. We have been rockin this Crown Top Hat look for a few years now and they have been worn in several editorial shoots. One was in last months Clash Mag and the other was paired with Balmain in Love magazine.
This hat is very old and it does have wear . Slight bending or creasing at the top. It's very wearable and is a larger size.
It's being sold as is with BQ metallic lace embellishments.
This style was also worn at the Temperley Mad Hatters tea Party in London.
